WALK WITH DONKEYS

Alistair and Susan founded the non-profit charity "Walk with Donkeys" and their space functions as a shelter, convalescent home, but also as a donkey rescue centre. Tourists with friends or family can visit the shelter, which is located in Ierapetra, in the village "Anatoli" and enjoy a walk with a donkey.

CANYONING

Kastri and Keratokampos can be characterized as the centre of the canyons of Crete, as within a radius of just 25 km you will find more than 7 canyoning, through which running water passes in the spring months. Experience canyoning while bringing your own personal equipment, as it is not provided by the accommodation. The canyons of our area require experience for their descent and are addressed to experienced connoisseurs. The highest turnout is in April and May.

WATER SPORTS

For water sports lovers, the beach of Ierapetra and the water sports center "WAIKIKI" provide you with water skiing, windsurfing, banana, jet skiing and other water sports.

One of the most popular activities in Greece for many tourists is scuba diving. Just 40 km from Kastri is the 5-star diving center "Ierapetra Diving Center" where you can get to know the underwater world of Crete.

Tsoutsouras & Maridaki (45 ')

 

Two of the beaches that offer the visitor natural beauty, clear blue waters and peace are Tsoutsouras and Maridaki.

For lovers of hiking, from Tsoutsouras you can walk to Maridaki through a wonderful and well-made path that crosses a fantastic wild landscape with carob trees, caves, dry meadows and stunning sea views.

Richtra Waterfall (15')
 

At the lowest point of the river that passes through the canyon of Portela and a few meters before you meet the small plain of Keratokampos, the beautiful waterfall of Richtra is formed. There is a wonderful, easily accessible path between the wonderful wild beauty of our place.


 

Sarakina Canyon (1.15΄)
 

It is a small canyon (about 1.5-2 km). The climbing that follows is not difficult but you will go through some slightly "difficult" points at the beginning, so you need to be careful. To find it, move to Ierapetra and exit

from the village of Mythoi (to the village of Males) you will see a sign that directs you to the canyon.
